A quick reference for every automated email Grantboost sends you, and why you got it.
Grantboost sends a handful of automated emails to keep you and your team up to date. Here’s what each one means and what, if anything, you need to do about it.
Welcome email (new account)
When you get it: A teammate invites you to join their organization’s Grantboost account, or an admin adds you as a team member.
What it contains: A temporary password so you can log in for the first time.
What to do: Log in with the temporary password, then set a permanent password when prompted. See Managing Your Team and Signing In and Password Recovery.
Account recovery email
When you get it: You request a password reset because you’ve forgotten your password.
What it contains: A temporary password (Grantboost doesn’t send reset links — it sends a temporary password you log in with directly).
What to do: Log in using the temporary password, then you’ll be prompted to set a new permanent password. If you didn’t request this email, you can safely ignore it — no changes are made to your account until someone actually logs in with the temporary password.
See Signing In and Password Recovery for the full walkthrough.
Grant search report
When you get it: On the schedule you’ve configured (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), if Grantboost’s search has found grant opportunities matching your organization’s profile.
What it contains: A summary of matching opportunities split into two sections:
- Currently Open Grant Opportunities — grants you can apply to right now
- Upcoming Grant Opportunities — grants that aren’t open yet but are coming up
Each listing shows the funder, grant title, amount, and deadline, with a link back into Grantboost to view the full opportunity. If a deadline couldn’t be confirmed from the source, the email flags it so you can double-check before relying on it.
What to do: Review the opportunities and save the ones worth pursuing. Nothing is saved automatically just because it’s in the email.
No new grants found
When you get it: On your regular search schedule, but only when Grantboost’s search didn’t turn up any new matches since your last report.
What it contains: A note that no new grants were found, a suggestion to adjust your search preferences for better results, and — if you have any previously found upcoming opportunities still on the horizon — a reminder list of those.
What to do: If you’re getting this often, it’s worth revisiting your search settings (funding amount range, organization type, location, and so on) to widen your match criteria. See Grant Search Settings and Filters.
Deadline reminder
When you get it: Automatically, whenever one of your saved (and not dismissed) grants has a deadline coming up within the next 3 days.
What it contains: A list of the grants with imminent deadlines, including funder, amount, and deadline date, with a link back to Grantboost. If a deadline couldn’t be verified from the source, the email flags it so you can confirm it directly with the funder before assuming it’s accurate.
What to do: Prioritize finishing and submitting applications for the grants listed before their deadlines.
Managing who gets these emails
Grant search reports and deadline reminders can be configured independently — you can turn either on or off, set separate schedules for each, and add additional recipient email addresses so teammates who don’t have a Grantboost login can still stay informed. See Grant Notifications and Deadline Reminders for how to configure these in Settings.
